STAGES OF LANGUAGE ACQUISITION FOR BABIES

 


In the language acquisition for babies. Process babies learn to produce and comprehend speech. The process started since in momi speech with babies, the babies can speak or produce a sentence even a complex sentence. Pior to uttering speech sound, infants make a variety of sounds, crying, babbling, holoprastic. (Arung,2016)

The first babies in 0-5 month age old. Babies can communicate through crying, looking a way, or smiling a baibies is able to breath and drink which both may work together in order time. Babies speaks by shutting down the cleft in the larynx when breath out, the babies imitates the mother tongue in practicing. (Arung,2016)

The second babies in 6-12 month age old or babbling stage. This age babies can produce more complicated and varied babies produce the utterance by combining between vowel and consonant phonemes which is similary with syllable, in Indonesia context = ma-ma, ba-ba, pa-pa-pa, da-da, etc. (Arung,2016) 

The third babies in 8-12 month age old. At this age babies begins and tries producing phonetic segments such as phoneme then producting phonetic segments such as phoneme then producting word for example in Indonesia = “bu” then “bu-bu” and finally this can pronounced word “ibu” other example “pa” then “pa-pa” may produce word “papa” or “bapak” which means father. (Wilis,2008)

The forth babies in 1-2 years old or holophrastic stage. At this stage, child is able to pronounce one word. The fifeth babies in 2-3 years old babies can pronounce two words or phrase in Indonesia context child may produce mama masak (mother cooks), papa pegi (father goes), etc. The sixth babies in 3-4 years old. Babies are ablethe pronounce the elements of complicated structure such as simple sentence. (Arung at al,2016)

In conclusion, language acquisition for babies that is though the crying babbling stage, this stage can be used to see the development of a babies according to babies age and of course language acquisition can not be separated from a mother who always teaches language.
